Serviceberry (Amelanchier)

Serviceberry leaves are a smallish, finely toothed but usually with no teeth at the base. The leaf can
be downy as barely visible in the photo (left) on the lower leaf. I note the petiole is often red.

The flowers have a somewhat raggedy appearance and are fading by mid-May.
